What’s better than watching the red carpet arrivals and gushing with your girlfriends? Doing it in sweats with a bottle of wine at hand because tomorrow is a snow day!

Here are my fave looks:

And, of course… the stunning Lupita Nyong’o; not only best dressed for tonight, but best dressed of this awards season.

A*cute Movies: The Great Gatsby

by Sherria

It’s coming! It’s coming! I’m so excited that The Great Gatsby’ is coming to movie theaters nationwide next Friday, May 10th. I’ve been dying to see this movie since last year!

Last night, stars of the film graciously walked the red carpet. I wish I could have been there. I’m in love with Leonardo DiCaprio. But, since I couldn’t make it (or wasn’t invited…sad face), below are a few websites that reported on the event.

Big Winners at the Oscars

by Jackie

My favorite part of last night’s Oscars was the Lena Horne recognition. Not only do I admire the late actress because of her talent, beauty, and commitment to change Hollywood’s whitewashed ways, but I also adore her elegant style.  Though today’s red carpets seem to be lacking that gracefulness, Oprah, Sandra Bullock and Mila Kunis were the exception.

Oprah's shimmery black gown was truly beautiful and accentuated her shape.

Sandra Bullock's red number is classic and sexy.

Mila Kunis looks stunning in this sexy gown. I want one!

Best Look | MTV VMA Red Carpet

by Jackie

Like the rest of you, I just finished watching the MTV VMAs. I love reading all of the live tweets during award shows. They add an extra special dimension to the experience. There were some very interesting looks on the red carpet this evening, but if I had to pick a fave it would be Amber Lancaster’s embellished shoulder LBD.

(Photo: MTV.com) Star of "The Hard Times of RJ Berger" Amber Lancaster's little black dress is an edgy take on a classic fool-proof look.

Red Carpet Retro

The day after an awards show is a fashionista’s dream.  This morning I watched tons of recaps of Emmy red carpet fashion winners and losers.  Reality television personality Lo Bosworth of Laguna Beach and The Hills fame topped A*cute‘s best dressed list. As predicted, AMC original drama Mad Men took top honors last night.  Lo seemed to pay homage to the drama with this sexy and classy sheath that fits right in with the retro theme of the show. Lo’s fab look is very translatable for the work place.

To capture Lo's Mad Men-inspired retro glam, head to Macys.com and invest in a sheath dress. It's a classic silhouette with clean lines that works for the 9 to 5 and off the clock.
